Cecil E. Mortson Perpetual Trophy

This trophy, awarded annually to the winner of the Youth Production Contest, is presented in memory of the late Cecil E. Mortson. "Cec", as he was affectionately known, established the Mordale herd, originally located in York County, Ontario. Cecil Mortson was a keen competitor at the shows and an enthusiastic promoter of the Jersey breed. He was recognized by the Canadian Jersey Cattle Club as the Master Breeder in 1972.

Cecil was also a strong advocate of the Ontario Invitational Sale and was one of the founders of the Youth Production Contest. Hence, the Cecil Mortson Perpetual Trophy, which highlights a series of achievements by youth, involving selection and promotion as well as management and production.
