Ontario Breeders Shine at World Dairy Expo
The Ontario breeders & exhibitors represented Ontario exceptionally well this year at the World Dairy Expo. Bryan Weldrick of Woodstock, ON won best bred & owned, as well as Junior Champion with Tanner Jones 4-H Project, Perennial Justice Natasha. The Reserve Junior Champion heifer, Willdina Jade Bee, was bred by Ontario breeder, Willdina Farms of Bowmanville, ON and owned by Berlesque Jerseys. The Honourable Mention Junior Champion, Maple Ridge Connection Shawna, was bred by Pete & Michelle Stern of Drumbo, ON, and owned by Ferme Elegance, P. Boulet, M. Palich, C. McCaig. Charlyn Jerseys of Forest, ON received the 1st place Fall Heifer class with Charlyn Justice Beauty, Charlyn Jerseys also received 2nd place for the Junior Best Three class. Avonlea Genetics of Brighton, ON followed behind in 3rd place for the Junior Best Three class. Avonlea Genetics also bred the 2nd place Junior 2 Year Old, Avonlea Connected to Kanada, who was exhibited by Tower Vue, and the 2nd place Spring Yearling, Avonlea Mischiefs Miley, who was exhibited by Dyment, Kueffner & Stephens. Paul & Virgina Warwick of Exeter, ON bred the 2nd place Yearling in Milk, Genesis Nevada Joanna, exhibited by Bachelursin. At the end of the Jersey show, Ontario than received 2nd place for State Herd. Congratulations to all the Ontario Exhibitors at the 2009 World Dairy Expo, once again Ontario was well represented!
